Our New House Construction
This is a 500 gallon tank
Interesting perspective...
Greg from Amerigas and Gary set the tank in the hole
Yep.  It is 12 ft. from the house - 2 ft more than the minimum
The back-filling starts
The dirt and sand is very fine so it won't compromise the paint job on the tank.  If the paint is breeched it can set up the conditions that would allow corrostion of the tank.  There is a cathode bag attached to the tank to draw the metal and soil reactions away from the tank and to the cathode bag.
Greg spreading the sand around the tank.
This is the cone around the filler tube
In its final resting place with only the top of the cap to mark its place
01-23-11 - Here is a quick update on what is happening.  All of the wood ceilings are completed, the walls are all primed and the heat was turned on on Monday January 17th.  The geothermal really works.  The  water mixture is circulating down the 500 ft wells and back through the heat exchanger and blowing warm air out of the registers.  There are two tiny pigtail thermostats pre-set to 65 degrees which are keeping the house toasty warm thus allowing the paint to dry.  All of the bathroom and pantry cabinets are on site and their installation will begin on Tuesday the 25th.  James Dixon will be installing the cabinets and doing all of the tile work for us.  James has helped me out in the past when we had to replace the huge garage doors at the cottage.  Once he has the cabinets in place he can begin laying the tile floors in all of the bathrooms and pantry.  He will also lay tile in the shower in the master bedroom, and around the tub in the guest bath area.  When the painting is completed John will start to lay the floors.  When that is done he can install the spiral staircase, appliances and kitchen cabinets.  We don't expect the staircase or appliances to arrive until early February.  Once they're in place the pace should pick up a bit..
