11/26/10 - Well, I hope you had as good a Thanksgiving celebration as we did. Lynn, Glenn, Sarah, Jacob, the kids & Kristin were all here for a GREAT Thanksgiving meal.
Since our last update they are staining wood for our ceilings, putting up the ceiling on the porches, continuing to run water pipes and electrical wiring. They have started to frame in the rec room downstairs. Ken Dove, the electrician, has wired in the transfer switch for our generator and told me that we have about 5.000' feet of just electrical wires. That doesn't include telephone and cable for the TV. The plumber, Bill Westfall, is hoping to get his rough-in inspection done this week.
I expect the group from Davenport Insulation to come in some time this coming week to get started.
The water well has been drilled and our well is 322' deep. The two 500' geothermal wells have been completed. Some time this coming week Gary Brill will come out and dig the trenches from all the wells to the house and those hook-ups should be completed by the end of the week. Gary will also be digging the hole for our propane tank. We will have a gas cook top, gas hot water heaters and gas for the back-up generator.
I've been told to expect the heating equipment to arrive in the next 10 days to 2 weeks so I am hoping we will have heat and water in the house before Christmas.
I suspect that in the next week or two the drywallers will get started.
Lorrie and I still have a lot to do in the next few weeks. We still have some lights to pick out, a spiral staircase to pick out and order and some Hardee siding for the big gable in the back of the house. Around Christmas we will be ordering the T&G flooring which will be yellow pine in 3'' 4" & 5" widths. I never knew building a house would be so much work and so much fun.

Here they are putting the piping down into the geothermal well
