02/14/11 - The Kristin, Sarah & Jacob came for the week-end to celebrate my birthday. We went out to a dinner and then out to see True Grit. It was a really nice week-end and was great to have them here. Now, on with the show...
Frank Lewis, the brick mason and his crew, Willie, Paul, Opie & Nathaniel all worked on our fireplace beginning on Thursday and worked through the week-end and will be there another day or so to finish up. Lorrie and I went to pick out our hearth stone and mantel. We are using West Virginia stone on the fireplace so we chose a brownstone for the mantel and hearth stone.
Our New House Construction
As you can see, Nathaniel is working on
the 'firebox'. The stove will sit on the hearth just in front of the fireox. The firebox provides the clearance from the back of the stove to the wall.

To finish this side all that is needed is the grout between the stones.
