How We Met
Lorrie and I were counselors at Camp Adventure during the summer of 1969. She was the counselor of the junior girls and I of the junior boys. Our first real contact came in the pool during counselor orientation. This was the beginning of our life adventure together. As I write this, we are about to celebrate our 52nd anniversary on June 26, 2023.
In October 2022 Tony Heller, Director, Camp Adventure contacted me to ask Lorrie and me to write our memories of our time at camp and what we are doing now. He has contacted many past counselors to ask them to do the same with plans to put together a book of memories. Our submissions are included here and we hope you enjoy a little glimpse into our beginning. I'm sorry to say that we lost Tony on January 31, 2025. Tony and I had a great relationship and I
learned a lot from him. I can speak for the many counselors and staff over the years that he WILL BE MISSED.
